Fantastic Field Trip!

Yesterday we went on a field trip to the Canterbury Museum to see the Arctic Voices exhibit. The exhibit was about all the animals in the arctic and how they adapt to life in such a cold country. A museum educator gave us a worksheet where we had to pick an animal and write information about how they were able to survive in cold temperatures. I chose a polar bear. On the other side we had to create a new species and how they would adapt to living in the arctic. My animal was called a polar bird. It had fur all over it's body to keep it warm and to flippers to make it swim really fast,it also has wings to fly. Then we had lunch at the botanical gardens and for playtime we got to climb trees. After lunch we had to go around the museum and find hidden things. It was very hard. I want to learn more about global warming. Afterwards I felt very tired because we had a full day. What do you know about the Arctic?
