Axolotl information report

WALT write an information report.

Over the last 2 days we have been working on information reports. You could choose an animal or an Olympic sport. I choose an Axolotl because it intrigued me with it's little tree branches on the side of its head. Here is an excerpt from it: Common colours of the Axolotl is black, green and pink (Leucistic) but you can also get white, golden, copper (super rare) and Melanoid (completely black with black eyes unlike normal black). You can also get different patterns like Chimera, where half is one colour and half another colour, Mosaic, where its body is speckled with different colours and Piebald which is like Mosaic except in Leucistic colours only.

If you know anything about the appearance of Axolotls you know that they have cute little tree-like branches on the side of their head. Did you know those weird branches are actually gills. Strangely enough, Axolotls still have fully functioning lungs. Sometimes they will climb to the surface and take a gulp of air.

Axolotls have eyes on either side of their head and just below that a small mouth that looks like they’re permanently smiling. They also have a long bumpy fin running down from the start of the back to the tip of their tail.

This was tricky because we had to do 750 words in 2 days and on the first day I got a migraine so I couldn't do any work.

Would you have chosen an Olympic sport or animal and if so what would you choose?

  1. Hi Kate, my name is Scarlett from New Brighton Catholic School.
I really like your post on the Axolotl, I think I would have also had a migraine if I had had to do 750 words 😮. I would most definitely do a report on an Olympic sport. Did you learn more about Axolotls then you knew?
I can´t wait to see your next post.
