Dangerous Jobs

W.A.L.T  To write about the most dangerous jobs (in my opinion) from most dangerous to least dangerous.

  1. Journalist, News reporter because they often have to go to war torn countries to get footage. They also sometimes have to go up close.
  2. Window cleaners because they have to go up super tall buildings to clean windows.
  3. Horse racers because you could fall off your horse.
  4. Mathematician because all you do is calculate sums.
  5. IT manger because you fix peoples computers.
What would you like to be when you grow up?

In Flanders Fields

In Flander Fields is a poem about World War 1. The man who wrote it was called John Mcrae. He was mourning a friend who had just been shot. These are the words. In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

This is me reading it.

How the Holy spirit was present at Pentecost

WALT to identify the ways the Holy Spirit was present at Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is the gift that was sent down by Jesus to the apostles and the disciples. One day they were praying in a room when there was a gush of wind that filled the room. There was fire on their head and they could speak different languages. Are you able speak a different language?

How to make oaty choc chip biscuits

WALT Identify different types instructions and write our own.
We had to write instructions e.g a recipe or a skill or how to look after a pet. I made instructions on how to make oaty choc chip biscuits.

How to make oaty choc chip biscuits.
These biscuits are low in sugar and taste very yummy. Maybe you have made these biscuits and you used a different recipe. This is probably the healthiest recipe because the sugar is halved(It still tastes the same though).

Ingredients
150 g unsalted butter
¼ of a cup brown sugar
¼ of a cup Caster sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup plain flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup of choc chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 180℃. Line a large baking tray with non-stick baking paper.
  2. Use an electric beater and combined sugar in a medium bowl until pale and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until well combined.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder over the egg mixture. Add the oats and chocolate and stir until well combined.
  4. Roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls. Place on lined tray and flatten with a fork (tip dip it in hot water so it doesn't stick. Bake for 12-15 mins or until light golden.
  5. Set aside on the tray for 5 mins to cool before putting on to a wire rack to cool completely.

Shape Hunting

WALT describe the features of 2D objects using geometric language: Sides, Corners, Angles,Diagonals
Perimeter, Semicircle. Today in maths we had to find different shapes in our house. I found lots of rectangles and squares. I also found a hexagon. It was a bit tricky finding a diamond as it is not a very common shape. What strangest shape ou found in your household?
