A strategy you can use for maths

a) 205 + ? = 700      e) 509 + ? = 900
b) 427 + ? = 900       f) 341 + ? = 1000
C) ? + 372 = 800       g) 1666 + ? = 10,000
d) ? + 143 = 600        h) ? + 2150 = 20,000 


 so say we had 205 + 5= 210           write down 5

210 + 90= 300        write down 90
300 +400 = 700     write down 400
Add the things you wrote down together
So the answer 495 + 205 = 900 
this isn't the most convenient strategy because it does take a bit of time but at least it works.
Can you work out the problems with this strategy?

    This is a good strategy Kate, I like how you have broken it down into the different steps and added the colour to the answers. Just remember to check before you post as you have put the answer as 900 instead of 700. Is this one of your favourite strategies to use?
